Lionel Messi’s inclusion in this year’s MLS Best XI has generated a strong reaction from fans. The Argentinean enjoyed an impressive campaign with Inter Miami, registering 23 goals and 13 assists from 25 games across competitions.

Messi’s efforts helped the Herons reach the top of the MLS Eastern Conference table and win the Supporters’ Shield. Unfortunately, La Pulga couldn’t guide the Florida-based club to the MLS Cup, crashing out in the first round at the hands of Atlanta United.

However, that didn’t stop him from making it to the team of the season.
